The BiG Change Webinar Series is held each Spring. This free webinar series focuses on collaborative approaches for tackling challenges and thriving in the 21st Century. Leading thinkers, authors, and founders will share their experiences and reflections. Some of the featured guests traveled to South Africa in September to share and learn at the www.NEXUS4africa.org Conference.

In each of the Big Change Webinars, we will take an evidence-based approach to engage in a lively conversation that is sure to give you “food for thought” and “practical ways” to enrich your collaborative efforts.

Radical Change requires Radical Stability: The Backstory Behind Real Time Strategic Change

April 12th @ 2:00 PM EST – Completed

w/ Jake Jacobs

Hosts: Amanda Cook and Dave Croci

  • Strategic / Tactical
  • Centralized/Decentralized
  • To Change/Not to Change
  • Current State/Future State
  • Manic/Depressive
  • Yin/Yang

Why not have both?  We can…and we should!  It’s all about striking a balance between the “polar extremes” and following the energy that this tension creates.  Polarity Management, intertwined with Real Time strategic Change, is an approach to change that seeks to balance these natural oppositions.  The goal of this webinar is for you to challenge your assumptions about the extremes and find that tenuous balance.

Engaging Emergence: Turning Upheaval into Opportunity

April 21st @ 2:00 PM EST – Completed

w/ Peggy Holman

Hosts: Gina Martinez and Loraine Coutcher

What does it take to see opportunities where others see problems? How do you bring people together to pursue possibilities when faced with upheaval? As our organizations, communities, and other social systems experience increased uncertainty, a framework for engaging with disruption and the unknown becomes key to meeting today’s challenges.

In this live session, change process expert Peggy Holman, in an interactive interview, provides theory, principles, and hands-on practices for taking the “emergency” out of emergence. Drawing lessons from the natural sciences, she will help you make practical sense of the deeper patterns of whole system change.
